Lilypie Fourth Birthday tickers

It started with...

Zylan was due for his 12mth jab. I decided to wait until he passed his first birthday before going for the jab. Coincidentally the past days he has been getting this funny bites on his legs, and I wanted to bring him to the doc for a check. So we decided it was about time, he got his jab as well.

I hate going to the clinic on Sundays, especially if you are not there to queue up before the clinic opens. Sounds damn kiasu but that's the only way that you don't have to wait for ages in a room full of sick children for your turn.

We ended up waiting for an hour....although we were the 7th in line, thanks to those that put their name and left and came back just before our turn, not to mention one mother who cut the queue. Benefit of doubt that her daughter was probably very ill.

i'm bored....

We took Zylan swimming the next day (that's when the water boo-boo happened) and he also had another dip at mum's house with Maya and Alayna that same evening :-p

He got me cornered so I gave in! :-D

Anyways, 2 days later, Zylan got the flu. (Okay, so we weren't exactly sure if it was from the clinic, or he caught a cold from swimming - but clinic full of sick children has got a bad rep).

Look at that leaky nose on day 3....poor baby...

We started him quickly on the flu medication and he got better in the next 5 days. But he started to become very clingy and easily irritated. On the 8th day, he started having fever.

We woke up every 2 hours at night to keep a check on him to make sure his fever was in control. Had to even wake him up to give him his fever medication, he wasn't at all happy cos he was sleepy and it was hard to fall asleep again.

By the third day, the fever was finally in control but he started having red spots like rashes on the neck and forehead. (Hmm....sometimes when he wants it his way, and starts to cry - he starts to sweat like crazy and his forehead turns red) So we weren't sure if that was heat rash or something more to come...

The next morning...the red spots looked a little more around the neck and forehead. It was Altaf's day off so we decided to hold on till tomorrow to bring him in. To keep him entertained, we brought him to the mall.

We had lunch and Zylan had his first Italian meal..somewhat. Most of it ended up on the floor :-p

He was quite contented chewing on the straw.

We got home that evening and I had the shock of my life when I saw his whole body filled with red spots! Poor baby...

Almost killed us trying to figure out if it was measles. We sort of concluded he was and followed by the books on what if it was measles...

The next morning we were 3rd in line to see Altaf (we made sure we joined the queue before the clinic opens!). And thankfully, it wasn't measles. Zylan's got Roseala. Apparently it is some sort of 'fake measles' that is caused by virus and once it goes full blown (meaning from neck/forehead to body) he will start to get better.

Zylan lost about 1kg from the whole 2 weeks of illness :-( Hopefully he will bounce back soon enough.
